KD: good luck with #4, let us know how that turns out. I’m pretty sure it’s the same as floating in salt water, if I remember correctly, the right way to escape quick sand is to swim out of it.

I’m down with 2– but I’ll leave 3 to Anthony Bourdain (b/c at least he’ll eat the poor thing when it’s all said and done), and 4 to Bear Grylls (b/c apparently he has enough back-up that nothing on earth is truly dangerous).

Another way to escape quicksand – if you happen to find a sheep carcass nearby, use THAT to expand your own surface area. Then you can eat the heart for dinner. I’ve seen Bear do this, but it was a bog – which I think is like quicksand…
