This is really great.

The weekend was full of crazy fun, in spite of our Comic Con being a little weak. I could have done the convention for three whole days. We waited too long (since we didn’t know the power of the nerds) and the tickets were sold out every day but Sunday. It was fine though, even if the crowd wasn’t at its height it was overwhelming, even after a giant preparatory breakfast at the Broken Yolk. We just missed the cast of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, but we did get to see tons of hilarious costumes and people freaking out over free stuff. Best costumes: Bender and Marvin the Martian, methinks.
My favorite moments were trying to get on a unicorn, yelling at MK to take more pictures, and meeting the writers of my favorite web comic: Cyanide & Happiness. You’ve surely seen them in posts here before. Well, they drew me my very own (FREE!) comic:
That makes me cooler than anyone that I know. Don’t be surprised to see it framed and mounted and lit up on the most important wall of my house soon. If you make fun of my glasses, I will punch you in the throat.
As a casual observer that knew very little about a lot of the things going on there, I was expecting to see nothing I knew anything about. But if you’re into Lost or Heroes or any regular TV junk there’s just as many people like you as there are in Battlestar Galactica costumes. No, not as many. But some. My point is it’s not just Star Wars fans, only mostly.
There were traditional newspaper comic writers there (being completely ignored) and people that write graphic novels and rows and rows of people I’m pretty sure are just good at drawing but never drew for the company that makes the characters they draw (walking there was totally awkward).
Here’s a link to the rest of the pictures. SB, this Jabba the Hut is for you.

Story One from guest one, JM, besides the usual (shark snorkeling, cove snorkeling, pigging out, beaching it, SHOPPING) is our little trip to see The Dark Knight. Batman rules, of course, but definitely rules MORE when you go to In-N-Out Burger first. Then get popcorn. And Coke (zero…). But the super baddest Batman feature was that we saw it in IMAX.
There was quite a line and it did sell out but our seats were fine. The only thing I remember seeing in IMAX is the story of the Alamo, so this was pretty great. There were six scenes that were filmed IN IMAX, which is awesome even though I have no idea what that means. JM even had to point out which ones they were (the screen got bigger).
The only shocking part of this to me - and remember, I’m all for high gas prices and don’t have any reason yet to complain about the economy - was that the tickets were 15$ a piece!!!
Well, Joker, 15$ is a lot of money. That’s why.

Every where I look, there’s an announcement for all these new shows.
You have to admit that writer’s strike came at a great time for us, right when we began life without cable. It was a tough adjustment at first you know, getting out doors and in the sun when we first got to San Diego. I imagine if we’d stayed through the winter in Seattle I would have DIED without cable, after experiencing like three days of that weather before we left. Ugh.
So at first we watched what we wanted, all two shows (Heroes and Grey’s) online. That was relatively simple. But now…NOW there’s some valuable night time that we would love to cuddle up and watch crap TV and our options are American Idol and Dancing with the Stars (The two channels that come in with the tin foil on the 12″ screen). I in all earnestness can’t handle the fact that some people can actually get/sit through an entire episode of either. (Riverdance? People still do that???)
The internet and commercials during The Simpsons keep taunting me with all the new stuff I’m missing out on. Especially, there’s The Hills, which a friend got me into briefly, and Workout, which is awesome because I always workout after, or sometimes even while I watch it, so it’s truly guilt free reality crap.
Back! New Episodes! It’s not fair. But hey, it’s almost moving time again, so I get to make sure that soon I can get back to the Sunday marathons to get caught up. Until then, I’m pretending I’m allergic.

The new New Balance ad campaign is killing me. With its accuracy. The second one is my favorite. I love skipping workouts, seeing other people doing it, and feeling that guilty twinge. I haven’t told you much about my workouts of late since I’ve found the right routine. We’re doing the gym together and I run every so often but have had a sore knee lately so I usually a cardio video at home or exercise by the pool. Whatever, it’s working. But I never started to love, or even like, running. Check these commercials out, they’re too cute.
